Orel Art UK is looking for a full time Head of Sales to join a professional and friendly team, taking the lead on sales and reporting to the Gallery’s Director.
Salary: £70k p/a plus commission

Key Accountabilities:
• Creating and sustaining significant sales at the Gallery with an agreed annual sales target
• Significantly expanding Orel’s outreach to new clientele by introducing an established client network
• Developing and building strong relationships with collectors, non commercial art galleries, museums, auction houses and potential clients and managing the database
• Attending the major international art fairs for business development
• Managing the Gallery’s artists and maintaining excellent relationships with them

Required Background and Experience:
• A strong background in senior sales in the arts world is essential; with past roles in either a major gallery, foundation or auction house
• A broad knowledge of the contemporary art world and the ability to put Russian contemporary art into context, with an in-depth knowledge of the international art market
• Extensive relationships with local and international private collectors
• Experience working with non-commercial galleries, museums, auction houses and international art fairs
• High competency in working and communicating with artists

Personal Skills and Characteristics:
• Driven, dynamic and efficient with proven experience in meeting sales targets
• Highly professional with strong commercial awareness
• Passionate about art and the art market: living and breathing art and mixing with the arts world outside of the gallery
• Presentable and charismatic with first class people skills and sales etiquette
• Highly organised and efficient with excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, and fully proficient in Word and Excel
• A natural socialiser with a warm personality, engaging with flair and professionalism with clients and artists
• Russian speaker desirable, but not essential
